Description

This is a portion of NGC1909 - The Witch Head Nebula.
My FOV doesn't allow me to capture the entire object, instead of doing a mosaic I chose to focus just on this beautiful area.
I really love the dream-like cloudy structure of this nebula, it really gives a 'spacey' vibe.
I think it kind of looks like a ghostly Nazgul riding a fellbeast!

This is around 20 hours of total exposure. I started by imaging Ha from home, even at F/2.8 with 10-minute exposures there was barely anything in the subs. I nearly quit, but I'm so glad I didn't, I think the Ha added a really beautiful punch in contrast with the blue/purple of the witch head.

LRGB was acquired over two lucky nights at the Astronomical Society of Victorias Leon Mow dark sky site (LMDSS)

Hope you enjoy!
Stefan
